Synopsis
In the distant future, humanity has colonized the galaxy at a terrible cost.
Astronaut Katlin Rowe awakens from cryosleep in a strange new world with a changed body and a mysterious past. Her consciousness has been extracted and placed into a new body by an AI called Forerunner, who welcomes her into one of humanity’s many thriving colonies.
But something isn't right at the Mara Institute of Perpetual Luminescence. Why is every colonist so young? Why did they design such strange bodies for themselves? Why can’t she leave?
The more Kit investigates, the more dangerous her questions become. Others have walked this path before, only to vanish into a forbidden place called “Remedial.” Soon Kit will face an impossible choice: accept the comforting lies, or risk everything to reclaim what was taken from her.
