Synopsis
Each piece in this random collection is, I hope, coherent and whole, but that is not so, intentionally, regarding the layout of the book itself. Order and contiguity are entirely haphazard; one piece comes before or after another for no reason, the way the mind works; thoughts and feelings, moods, fantasies, reactions come and go. One moment leads to the next, but associations that cause moments of consciousness to surface – they must exist – often are difficult to locate or to stabilize. Yet, in all the ways we think about innumerable subjects, events, experiences, etc., there is a theme, a pose, a manner, an attitude that runs through, as one such undoubtedly does here.
