Synopsis

When two elderly Russian men, Vladimir Tarasovich and Maxim Bodroff, finally set out on a long-delayed pilgrimage to Jerusalem, their paths diverge in an unexpected way. Vladimir, a wealthy landowner, constantly postpones the journey due to his household concerns, while Maxim, a humble beekeeper, believes in fulfilling their vow before it is too late. Along the way, Maxim stops to help a starving family, sacrificing all his money and choosing to stay behind, while Vladimir continues on his religious journey. When they reunite, Vladimir comes to a profound realization—true devotion is not found in rituals or distant pilgrimages, but in acts of love and compassion.
