Synopsis
Alec Ewell, nearly fifteen, moves to a new town with his grandfather, and goes to a new school to start a new life. It's not the first time he has done this, because everywhere they go, Alec just can't help but use his unique ability to heal people who are injured, or sick, or suffering. He is a Balm, and it's a power that runs in his family, but Gramps wants him to keep it a secret, to leave well enough alone, and just try to be a normal boy . . . something Alec has never managed to do.
