Synopsis

The White Tree Frog (Litoria caerulea), commonly known as the Dumpy Tree Frog, is a fascinating amphibian native to Australia and New Guinea. With its distinctive appearance and gentle disposition, the White Tree Frog has become a popular choice for pet owners all around the world. These frogs are distinguished from other tree frog species by their huge, rounded bodies, brilliant green colors, and unique features. The White Tree Frog's adaptability to many surroundings, as well as its relatively simple care requirements, make it an ideal pet for both new and experienced frog keepers.

White tree frogs belong to the Hylidae family, which comprises tree frogs from all over the world. Their moniker "Dumpy" comes from their heavy, chunky look, which is distinguished by short limbs and a large, flat body. Adults normally grow to be 4 to 5 inches (10 to 13 cm) long, with females larger than males. They have smooth, slimy skin that is typically brilliant green, but can also be pale green, blue, or yellowish. Over time, they may develop light spots or marks, which contribute to their aesthetic attractiveness.
