Synopsis
Amid the spare setting of the rural Midwest, Still paints a haunting portrait of women's lives, confronted by a landscape both rich in its stark beauty, yet too often unforgiving.
It is late autumn 1968 and Mildred Price seems an ordinary, middle-aged office clerk. Deserted by her husband and grappling with the smallness of her world, she finds herself caught up in a lie that sends her on a path toward self-destruction then self-discovery. Through interwoven stories, the women of Still (Mildred, Jessy, and Cora) brave a world that is not always fair or kind, where private secrets have public meanings. And as the world shifts from past to deeper past, it is our history that must be confronted, as Mildred Price, an impulsive liar, becomes a catalyst for truth.
