The Follow Me Life Bible Study begins with a challenging question. Does my Christianity match up with New Testament Christianity and the way the early followers of Jesus lived for the sake of his mission and message?
Many Christians find themselves confronted with the reality that there must be more to the Christian life than what we often experience in America and the Western world. We feel this tension when we read missionary accounts of people giving up everything to spread the message of Jesus, or when we hear inspiring stories of the persecuted church and the gospel spreading in countries hostile to Jesus. But the greatest tension comes when we open the Bible itself—the very Word of God—and realize how different our lives look from what’s written on its pages. It is there that we realize something profound seems to be missing.
So the question becomes, can we live the life that Scripture describes, the life we feel is missing from our own experience? The answer is found in two words Jesus spoke again and again throughout the Gospels. “Follow me.”
This is the invitation of Jesus, the God of the universe. This is the life he offers—The Follow Me Life.
