IN BAMBETH, SILENCE HAS TEETH.
They used to call Bambeth a holiday town. Postcards, arcades, sunburnt shoulders outside the chip shop. Now it’s being eaten alive.
The economy is collapsing. The coast is eroding, and the residents have all learned the same survival trick - keep your head down and your mouth shut.
And then there’s the black dog.
It has always been there, at the corners of the town's memory, a whispered story to get the children off to bed, but now it's creeping closer.
Laurie never meant to come back. Driven out of London by spiralling panic attacks and the sudden collapse of her own confidence, Bambeth was meant to be a place to hide. Instead she finds a creature stalking the night - sodden fur, red eyes, jaws slick with something dark.
