Thirty-three years ago, a laboratory experiment was supposed to change the world.
Instead, it changed a town.
The people of Cherrystone Falls gain superhuman abilities accidentally and the truth behind the disaster was buried beneath layers of lies, secrecy, and fear. Now, three decades later, the Human Intelligence Agency (HIA) has returned to finish what Cherrystone Labs started: evolving humanity to become superhuman, or superiors as they are commonly called.
Nara Woods wants nothing to do with it.
A struggling freelance inventor with a talent for making bad situations worse, Nara sees the HIA as just another organization trying to control what it doesn't understand.But when she begins digging into the town's past, she discovers that Cherrystone Falls has never escaped the shadow of the experiment.
