Synopsis
In the forests of Gaul, he was Brennos: a husband, a brother, a free man.
But Rome does not tolerate the freedom of "savages." After witnessing his village reduced to ashes and his wife, Sulis, sacrificed by a Roman blade, Brennos is dragged in chains to the heart of the Empire. Sold to the infamous Ludus Sarpedon, he is rechristened with the name of a monster: Drakon.
Trained by the ruthless Doctore to be the perfect killing machine, Drakon rises as Rome’s undefeated Champion. He learns to swallow his hatred and serve his masters as if they were gods, earning a glory drenched in the blood of his own brothers-in-arms. Yet, behind the gladiator’s iron mask, the soul of Brennos remains alive, fueled by a silent promise of retribution.
When Dominus Sarpedon, driven by greed and arrogance, organizes the "Twilight of the Titans"—a lethal combat between the ten greatest champions of the Great Houses—he believes he is sealing the legend of his favorite slave. He did not count on the fact that a wolf's loyalty never belongs to the one who chains it.
In a spectacle where the script called for a massacre among slaves, Rome will witness the birth of a revolution. For when the beasts decide to stop fighting each other, it is the marble gods who begin to bleed.
