The prequel to the 2022 wilderness/suspense thriller The Alpha of Purgatory, Henry and the Wolves of Purgatory chronicles Henry Sanyasi's first winter in the Yellowstone wilderness, along with his first unsettling encounter with the Purgatory wolf pack, a full year before meeting conservation activist Jain Remus and becoming entangled in the violent conspiracy determined to end the plan to return the gray wolf to Yellowstone National Park.
Disenchanted with society and its emphasis on greed and consumption, rat-race mentality, and the innate corruption of human nature, Henry renounces civilization and moves into the isolated wilderness of the Purgatory Valley, in search of his own brand of freedom. But living off the land is not going to be as easy as he had imagined. Hungry and struggling to find food, warmth and shelter, he discovers that he has inadvertently moved to a stretch of land already occupied by a pack of gray wolves. Armed with a longbow and a preconceived bias, he is forced to confront the fear and prejudice that he has in his heart for these unwanted neighbors. As the harshness of winter begins to take hold of the valley, he will be left with one of three options: starve to death, kill the wolves that he perceives as a threat to his existence, or learn to co-exist with the misunderstood animals.
