I call this collection of poetry Sliced Bread because I wanted to invoke that feeling of family, togetherness, love, kindness, joy, laughter, fullness, and sharing. Each verse is a small bread crumb of self-motivating ideas, thoughts, and emotions that emerged from my soul during both my good and bad times. I’ve tried to provide you with a balanced meal that prayerfully - will nourish you. As with all of my offerings, my desire and intent is to be as honest as possible. So, if you feel that some of my poems lean more to being burnt toast rather than a sweet loaf of sugar bread, I’m sorry-not sorry. I have to write as I see it and put it out there for all to experience my truth in its rawest form. We can’t allow the rich slave makers of the poor to continue to exploit and rob us of our ability to do for ourselves and our children. We must protect the sanctity and integrity of our bread at all costs! It’s really that serious!
