After first understanding what the Mosaic law teaches (including its criminal justice statutes), then we must determine which of its precepts apply to today. Without the New Testament's epistles, we Christians would hopelessly wrestle with the Law of Moses, not knowing which parts of it apply today and which do not. Hebrews says that with "the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law."
