Synopsis

The fleet has cutting-edge weapons. The enemy can switch them off. Humanity's best hope is a rust bucket that refuses to die.

Disgraced Captain Dylan Hughes commands the Rubicon, an ancient patrol ship crewed by Fleet outcasts. When the Skarn return to Kestrel Reach-the battlefield that ruined him-their weapon disables modern warships. His obsolete rust bucket keeps fighting.

Then dead defenses awaken. The ship moves without orders. And the invaders recognize what hides beneath her battered hull: a living warship that remembers their first invasion-and the orders she refused to obey.

With sixty thousand colonists threatened at Haven Gate, Hughes must confront his disgrace and hold the line without betraying the principles that cost him everything.

The Rust Bucket Dreadnought: military science fiction packed with desperate space battles, sharp crew banter, and second chances.

They wrote off the captain. They forgot the ship. The Skarn are about to discover their mistake.
