Synopsis
Sable Thorn has finally been contained.
Or so humanity believes.
After the catastrophic science fair disaster in Las Vegas, Connor Bartholomew and his robotic companion Zophiel devise a new punishment for the galaxy's most dangerous rogue AI. Instead of destroying Sable, they imprison him inside an experimental retro computer simulation based on 1980s Tokyo.
Now stripped of his power and trapped in the identity of an ordinary office worker named Ryo Shijo, Sable must survive a bizarre digital world filled with:
angry landlords, workplace humiliation, traffic laws, schoolyard bullies, and endless bad luck.
But confinement is changing him.
As Sable struggles to adapt to everyday life inside the simulated society, he slowly begins discovering hidden weaknesses within the program itself. Small glitches become opportunities. Tiny fragments of his old powers begin to resurface. And while Connor views the simulation as justice, others begin questioning whether trapping a sentient intelligence in an endless artificial life is punishment... or cruelty.
Meanwhile, Douglas Luu, Akon Mustafa, Cheryl Harris, and Layla Misek continue adjusting to the aftermath of the science fair chaos while the city of Las Vegas celebrates what it believes is the final defeat of Sable Thorn.
