Synopsis

Opposites attract - Second chance romance - Small-town setting - Found family

He chose his dream over her.
Now he's back... and she's the one thing he can't have.

Ten years ago, Sam Parker walked away from Hope's Crossing-and from Emma Delaney-to chase a future in professional baseball. He got the fame. The success. The life he thought he wanted.

But none of it was worth losing her.

Now his career is over, his body is worn down, and the only place left to go is the one town that still holds every mistake he ever made.

Emma never left.

She built a life rooted in the people who stayed, in a town that feels like family, in a future that's safe-predictable-and far removed from the boy who shattered her heart.

She's stronger now. Wiser.

And she knows better than to trust a man who already proved she comes second.

But Sam didn't just come home for closure.

His estranged father is dying.
And the years of anger between them may run out before they ever find forgiveness.

As old wounds reopen and emotions collide, Emma finds herself pulled back into Sam's world-caught between the man he used to be and the one he's still fighting to become.

Because no matter how much time has passed...
no matter how much it hurt...

He's still hers.

And that might be the most dangerous thing of all.

Sam has one last chance to prove he's not the man who left her behind.

But if he fails this time...
he won't just lose Emma again.

He'll lose his forever.
