Synopsis
乔治·卡特利特·马歇尔(George Catlett Marshall,1880年12月31日-1959年10月16日),美国军事家、政治家、外交家,陆军五星上将,第50任美国国务卿(1947年1月21日-1949年1月20日)。
马歇尔毕业于弗吉尼亚军事学院,1902年至1903年和1913年至1916年曾两次到菲律宾服役。第一次世界大战时任美国派遣军第一军作战处长。1924年至1927年任驻华美军第15步兵团军官。第二次世界大战开始后,历任国防部作战计划处处长和副参谋长。1939年升任美国陆军参谋长。1944年晋升为陆军五星上将。1945年退役,一度作为特使前往中国,调停国共内战失败后回国。1947年出任国务卿,制定"马歇尔计划",以挽救濒于崩溃的欧洲经济和遏制国际共产主义运动。1949年辞职。1950年至1951年任国防部长。成为是当时美国国防和外交政策的决策人之一。 1953年获诺贝尔和平奖。1959年在华盛顿逝世,享年79岁。
