About the Author
Originally from South Africa, Tam Smith now lives in Illinois, USA. Living in a different country from the one she grew up in has meant meeting people with different backgrounds, accents, and ways of doing things. It has also shown her how much people can have in common, even when they might seem different at first.Motherhood has given her a front row seat to the wonderfully unexpected way children see the world and a growing collection of little things her daughter says that she never wants to forget. Tam has always loved the way children notice things adults might overlook.Tam wrote Sometimes with families in mind. She hopes it encourages parents and children to spend more time reading together and talking about what they see on the page. A story can be a beautiful place to ask questions, share experiences, and learn about someone whose life looks or sounds different from your own. Above all, Tam hopes children come away knowing they can be curious about those differences and kind to one another.Spread kindness everywhere you go!
