Synopsis
As I’ve lived, I’ve learned. As I’ve lived, I’ve lost. As I’ve lived, I’ve loved. I once heard it said: “If you never want to hurt, then you never want to love, because you will always lose someone or something you love.” That statement has held true in my life. In my nearly 44 years, I’ve lost both of my parents, three siblings, and many relationships through betrayal. Yet through it all, I’ve learned lessons I hope to share with you.
So here we are: Proverbs and Parables from a Healed Heart. What will pour out from these short anecdotes is from my lived experiences. A lot of insight is rooted mostly in a biblical foundation, though I do not always exclusively quote scripture. I will indeed share some quotes from various authors and preachers I’ve read and listened to over the years. The problem is I can’t tell you those authors or preachers names because I’ve read hundreds of books and listened to hundreds of sermons over the course of my lifetime. So what’s coming out of me is “stored” information that I forgot to put labels on when I “stored” it in my heart and mind.
With the aforementioned considered, this short book is essentially me using all this “stored” information to share with you the reader practical ways I’ve learned to perceive life through the lens of a healed heart. My prayer is that these proverbs and parables provoke deep reflection and introspection in your own life. Perhaps you’ll read something that resonates deeply, or perhaps you’ll read a truth you haven’t experienced yet but it just may prepare you for the future. Perhaps you will perceive certain scenarios differently after this short read.
You can read one parable at a time or as many as you like in a day. You could even read straight through the book. My hope is that you pause and truly ponder the reflective questions I ask at the end of each passage. Let my once-broken, now-healed heart serve as a guide. Let my experiences help you navigate this unique life we all share
