About the Authors
Timmon Wallis holds a PhD in Peace Studies from Bradford University in England. He has directed peace organizations in the US, UK, and EU, and peace-building projects in eight war zones. His book Disarming the Nuclear Argument: The Truth About Nuclear Weapons (2017) played a role in the successful United Nations negotiations for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, for which the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons won the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize.
Vicki Elson is the Creative Director of NuclearBan.US. She holds an MA in Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts. After a long career as a childbirth educator, trainer of childbirth educators, and labor support doula, she has pivoted to promoting the abolition of nuclear weapons and fossil fuels as an even more important way to help children and families thrive into the future. She has volunteered with clean elections advocate Represent.US. She lobbies Congress, but more importantly, she pressures the weapons manu-facturers who "own" Congress to convert their assets to green technologies.
