Synopsis

Every town has a first story, and every heart has a first spark.

Marissa Clarke never imagined leaving the city for a tiny seaside town, but Mahone Bay offers the fresh start she's been craving. Independent and curious, she hopes to find a place where she can finally belong.

Caleb Moore has spent his life in Mahone Bay, building furniture and quietly supporting his neighbors, while keeping his heart carefully guarded. When Marissa arrives, his easygoing routine is unsettled, forcing him to face a fear he's never named-letting someone in only to watch them leave.

As harbor mornings and local traditions draw them closer, both Marissa and Caleb begin to question the walls they've built around themselves. Can they risk opening their hearts and discover that the best beginnings come when you least expect them?

First Lights of Mahone Bay is a heartwarming, clean small-town romance. In this prequel to the Harborlight Seasons series, readers will be drawn into a story about finding home, friendship, and the gentle spark of first love.

About the Author

Sylvia Price first met Mennonite missionaries in Montréeacute;al when she was 13 years old. She was captivated by their faithfulness to Christ, their politeness, their calm lifestyle-especially in comparison to the bustle of a major city--and how they could enjoy the simplest things to the fullest. When they opened their home for her to stay with them for three weeks, she was made to feel like family. Their enduring legacy in her life was to get her a library card and to start reading for her to cope with the loss of television and radio. With a new-found appreciation for books, Sylvia set her sights to college then seminary in service of the Lord. She now spends her time writing, hoping to inspire the next generation to read more stories.
