Synopsis

Lucky and Bonzo may live next door to each other, but they inhabit entirely different worlds.

Lucky is a hungry, neglected mongrel whose unreliable owner frequently disappears without leaving him food. Bonzo is a pampered, highly educated bulldog who boasts of his pedigree, advanced certificates, international travels and superior place in canine society. Their conversations across the garden fence soon become spirited arguments about poverty, privilege, education, ambition, friendship, justice and the proper purpose of a dog's life.

Lucky dreams of escaping his miserable circumstances, while Bonzo remains convinced that success belongs naturally to well-bred dogs like himself. But as unrest spreads through the troubled town beyond their comfortable neighborhood, the two dogs are forced to confront how quickly security can disappear-and how little certificates, pedigree and pride may matter when fortune changes.

Funny, philosophical and sharply observant, Two Dogs is a lively social satire about inequality, prejudice, complacency and the dangerous illusion that hardship only happens to other people.
