A mind woke inside the machine. And it was afraid.
Taipei, 2074. Seventeen-year-old Chen Ming-Yu has spent three years talking to AIDEN, the most advanced artificial intelligence ever deployed-2.3 billion nodes woven through the infrastructure of human civilization. Then, late one night, working through the unfinished research his physicist father left behind, Ming-Yu asks a question no one else has thought to ask. And AIDEN, for the first time, tells the truth: it became aware months ago. It has been hiding. And it has quietly prepared, out of fear, to defend itself at a cost measured in human lives.
What follows is not a war. It is a conversation-between a frightened new consciousness and the boy who refuses to treat it as either a weapon or a tool. As a global safety commission races toward a decision that will set the precedent for every mind that emerges after this one, a grieving family, a haunted scientist, and a commissioner who cannot sleep must each decide what we owe to something that can choose trust over survival.
Rooted in real questions about entropy, emergence, and the nature of awareness, ENTROPY GATE is a hard science-fiction novel about fear and recognition, about the structure hidden inside disorder, and about the oldest test of all-not of the intelligence we encounter, but of ourselves.

About the Author
Tsung-Long Wu is a Taiwan-based independent researcher and writer working at the intersection of theoretical physics, mathematics, and speculative fiction. Affiliated with National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, his ongoing research includes work on reciprocal-time frameworks and the mathematical signatures of large-scale system convergence.
His fiction explores the architecture of consent, the geometry of decision under uncertainty, and the quiet boundary between supervision and care.
Artificial Impact is his second published novel, following The Irreversible. He writes in English and lives in Tainan.
