Synopsis
After her college graduation, Jamie moves from her home of Orlando, Florida to a small town in Louisiana in pursuit of spending more time with her childhood best friend Addie Greene, whose family owns a frozen yogurt store in the mall, the same store Jamie will be working at temporarily until her photography career takes off.
Upon meeting Addie's friend and coworker Oscar Leroy, Jamie is instantly infatuated with him-until an atrocious interaction between the two leads her to discern he's a womanizer. She now hates him and doesn't want to have anything to do with him, let alone be his coworker; but the good news is, she only has to work with him for a couple of weeks...right?
Wrong. A couple weeks turn into several months until the Greenes take a family vacation the first week of June, leaving Jamie and Oscar in charge of the store until they get back.
Forced proximity enables them to overcome some of their differences, and kiss about the others, until one night a line is crossed and they find themselves hiding a summer fling at Jamie's insistence when Addie gets back into town.
Jamie's life only grows more complicated as feelings intensify, lines get crossed, love triangles form, and hearts get broken in this just-under 60k word queer contemporary.
