Synopsis
Hera is a middle-aged widow living a simple life on a moon in the outer rim of the galaxy. For religious reasons, her people abandoned technology long ago. But one day, she hears the voice of a young boy via one piece of technology which got preserved - an ancient device called an ansible. "Please help me," the voice simply says. Hera is deeply moved and feels compelled to go rescue him. But with no technology, no skills, and little practical experience, her wish seems hopelessly impossible. What's worse, she learns that the boy is being held in slavery by the ruthless Gaxhai Syndicate, the most feared criminal organization in the known worlds. Yet despite these long odds, Hera begs her family to leave anyway.
With determination, courage, and more than a little bit of luck, Hera finds a way. Along her journey, she finds new friends, new enemies, and a dizzying array of strange and unusual experiences. She takes on the most frightening challenges, and emerges victorious. Hera of Komi is a story of hope, triumph, and the love one can find through "found family."
