About the Authors

As the middle child of career missionaries, Martha spent the first eighteen of her growing-up years in Jos, Nigeria. She was educated in both Nigeria and in the United States and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Messiah University in Grantham, Pennsylvania. Anike Heller, daughter of the author, began dipping her fingers in paint at the young age of two. Since then, she has dipped her hands in a whole myriad of art forms and graduated from high school earning an Academic Achievement Award in Fine Arts. She later earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Regent University, where she graduated with high honors. Her background in psychology and her heart for hurting people groups has led her to Nigeria (the very country her mother was raised in). Even though she is fully engaged with research and counseling, she has continued to enjoy dipping her fingers in paint.
