Synopsis
Everyone in this world has a secret. It's the only way to survive.
Verity Fairisle is a lonely thief who gets the offer of a lifetime: infiltrate the castle to kill the prince of the Northern Realm, Ashton Atwood, the heir to the throne. As she tries to put her plan into action, she desperately finds herself keeping him alive. Not only to assist her in finding out the truth about her father's death, but because she learns that maybe his family isn't as guilty as she thought they were. As she learns the secrets her father tried so hard to bury, she has to decide who to trust.
Ashton is tired of having to be who his father wants him to be, and of the assassin that he was raised as. He doesn't want to be king, or rule. Alone that is. When his father forces him to find a bride, he meets Cala Crestridge. As he tries to figure out his connection to her, he learns more about who he can be and who Cala really is.
