Synopsis
Blessed with free land from the King of England, Hugh Brown-along with his family-move near the town of Ninety-Six to start a new life. As their family grows, so does their success; but a sudden act of violence leaves the household devastated. As they try to pull their broken family together, a storm looms in the future. As the Revolutionary War grows ever closer to their land, Hugh must make the decision whether he will fight for his king, or for the country he calls home. As friends become enemies, moral lines become skewed in the fires of war. Based off historical documents Hugh Brown wrote towards the end of his life; this book tells the true story of a generational epic that asks the question: What is worth fighting for?
