This version of the gospel of John is subtitled Listening to the Living Word. This is not a translation like The Trilingual Interlinear Bible which has each verse in Greek, ultra-literal English and ultra-literal Spanish. JOHN 1
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word arose within Mystery, and the Word was an expression of Mystery.
1:2 It was in the beginning within Mystery.
1:3 Through the Word, human beings came to perceive the pattern of all things; without language and understanding, nothing that is known, could have become known.
1:4 Within the Word was life, and that life became the light of humanity.
1:5 The light shines within the darkness, and the darkness has never extinguished it.
1:6 There came a man named John, awakened and empowered within Mystery.
1:7 He came as a witness, to testify concerning the light, so that through his witness others might come to trust it.
1:8 He was not himself the light, but he came to bear witness concerning the light.
1:9 The true light, which enlightens every human being, is continually coming into the world.
