Synopsis

The gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John contain many miracle stories which explain the heart of the gospel. They are not simply entertaining stories, but they are full of meaning about the ministry of Jesus. They invite us to reflect on the gospel. If we take the time to do that, we may be surprised to discover marvellous truths. Every miracle, also called a sign or a wonder, is an act bringing blessings and joy to the one who is healed. They often carry stories from the Old Testament into the present. They also anticipate the glory of the age to come, the new heaven and the new earth.
Reflecting on these events soon makes clear that there is much more going on than first meets the eye. I have drawn attention to some of these issues, and possibly you will see more.
