Synopsis
Operation: Vanguard - The Red Star Ascendant
In the shadows of the Cold War, Leo Vance—a kinetic brawler from Brooklyn—and Maya Rostova—a telekinetic defector—operate as agents for Vanguard, a secret organization dedicated to containing superpowered individuals known as "Anomalies". When a devastating attack on a West German safehouse leaves four agents dead, the team is introduced to "Subject Zero," an unstoppable, living energy conduit engineered by the Soviet Red Star program.
As Leo, Maya, and their veteran handler Arthur Sterling investigate the attack, they uncover a terrifying truth: Vanguard has been compromised from the top down by their own Deputy Director, Marcus Thorne. Thorne has allied with the Red Star to trigger "Project Icarus," a global satellite network designed to hijack the world's screens and synchronize humanity into a forced, globe-spanning "Mind Fracture".
Branded as rogue terrorists and hunted by Thorne’s brainwashed "sleepers," the team must abandon their digital technology and rely on strict analog protocols to survive. With the clock ticking down to an orbital launch from a heavily fortified site in the Siberian tundra, this fractured team is the only shield left to prevent the world from falling under absolute control.
