Synopsis

The chart is magnificent. It's also twenty-three feet long, printed in type the size of a gnat, and almost impossible to actually read.

Sebastian Adams spent years building his Synchronological Chart and Map of History — a single unbroken timeline running from Creation through the whole ancient world, with kingdoms shown as colored streams that widen with conquest and narrow with decline. It is one of the great teaching tools of the nineteenth century. Most people who own a copy have never made it past the first panel.

This guide fixes that.

In twenty short studies, you'll learn to read the chart the way Adams meant it to be read: following one empire across the page, seeing which king sat on which throne while which prophet was preaching, and watching Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome rise and fall side by side in a single glance. Forty hand-drawn diagrams redraw the chart's crowded sections in clean, simple form, so you can see the structure before you go back to the original.

Covers the stretch from Creation to Christ — the portion built on the Ussher chronology, including the patriarchal genealogies, the divided kingdom, the exile, and the four hundred silent years.

Inside you'll find:

• Twenty self-contained studies, each readable in fifteen minutes
• Forty simplified diagrams of the chart's densest panels
• Plain explanations of Adams' colors, bands, and dating system
• Review questions suited to family study or classroom use
• Generous 18-point type and wide margins throughout

Ideal for homeschool families, Bible study groups, classical education students, seniors, and anyone who has admired the chart on the wall and wished for a way in.

No prior history background needed. Just curiosity and fifteen minutes.
