How much weight can a heart bear before it turns to rubble?
The Flower That Broke Through the Pavement is born from that place we reach when we no longer know how much more we can carry.
Within these pages live grief, guilt, absence, time’s betrayal, and everything we do to keep moving forward while, deep inside, we are still trying to understand what has happened to us. These poems move through the wounds we do not always know how to name, the memories that remain awake when we close our eyes, and all that we learn to carry in silence.
This is not a book of magical solutions or predictable optimism. Nor does it seek to turn pain into a lesson or promise that everything will be all right. Rather, it is an exploration of what breaks us, of what remains after devastation, and of that part of ourselves that, even among the cracks, refuses to disappear. Because resilience does not always mean closing our wounds, but learning to grow with them. It means discovering that, even after everything has fallen, something may still remain willing to find its way through the cracks.
And perhaps there, among everything that breaks and everything that remains, a flower finds a way to break through the pavement.
