Synopsis

What if the Christian life is not about fighting to become free—but learning to live from the freedom Jesus Christ has already provided?

Romans 8:2 declares:

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

Notice what the apostle Paul does not say. He does not say that believers are trying to become free. He says that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus “hath made me free.”

Yet many sincere Christians live exhausted by condemnation, fear, guilt, temptation, spiritual striving, and the feeling that they must continually do more to maintain God's acceptance. Prayer can become panic. Spiritual warfare can become exhausting. Even good spiritual disciplines can become attempts to obtain what Jesus Christ has already accomplished.

The Law of the Spirit of Life takes the reader through the powerful truths of Romans 8 and explains how the finished work of Jesus Christ changes the believer's relationship with sin, condemnation, spiritual warfare, prayer, obedience, and everyday Christian living.

In this Scripture-centered book, you will discover the difference between the law of sin and death and the law of the Spirit of life, why freedom is found in Christ Jesus, what it means to be made free rather than trying to become free, how to distinguish conviction from condemnation, what the law could not accomplish through human effort, why God sent His Son, how to walk after the Spirit, and how the indwelling Holy Spirit produces life, liberty, character, and spiritual growth.

You will also learn how to move from striving into a biblical posture of rest without becoming passive. Rest does not mean doing nothing. It means praying, obeying, resisting temptation, exercising wisdom, taking responsibility, and standing in faith from what Christ has accomplished rather than trying to complete His work yourself.

This book does not present grace as permission to live carelessly. True freedom produces holiness, responsibility, humility, love, wisdom, and self-control.

The message is simple:

You do not have to manufacture freedom.

You do not have to earn freedom.

You do not have to fight to become what God says you already are in Christ.

Jesus Christ has accomplished redemption.

The Holy Spirit dwells within you.

Now learn to live from freedom.
