Synopsis
"I am." It is the one thing that cannot be doubted, because the doubting itself requires it. And under it sits a second fact, deeper still: without the consciousness of your own being, there is nothing else you could be conscious of at all. Being is, and being is aware. Everything in this book is those two facts, turned to a new face.
From that one certainty the whole thing opens. Space, things, people — all of it appears inside the consciousness of being and nowhere else, like a mirror to the one beholding it. Which overturns the oldest verdict we were ever handed: that the real is the thing you can point to. The word reality was built from res, the Latin for a thing — the crown of truth set on the manifestation, the downstream shape that comes and goes. But the thing is only the reflection. The one that truly is — the awareness in which every thing appears, that never itself becomes a thing — was left with no name in the whole vocabulary.
One finding, followed all the way down: through the laws of being, the word that frames the worlds, the gate of the heart, and the crown that was given to the wrong thing. It is the I AM that spoke its own name at the bush — found not out there among the objects, but as the very awareness of being reading this line.
