Synopsis

Change is never easy—especially when it touches something sacred.

Parishes merge. Churches close. Mass schedules change. Beloved traditions shift. And Catholics can find themselves grieving not only what is changing, but what those changes mean for their faith, memories, identity, and sense of belonging.

In this fully revised second edition of Dancing with Change, Richard J. McCorry, DMin, offers a distinctly Catholic way to understand and navigate change with honesty, faith, and hope.

Drawing on Scripture, Church history, pastoral experience, and the Paschal Mystery, McCorry explores why people respond to change differently, why resistance is often rooted in grief and love, and how individuals and parish communities can move through uncertainty without becoming trapped in fear or bitterness.

At the heart of the book are two practical spiritual guides: the journey from Good Friday through Easter and Pentecost and the LEAP of Faith—Learning, Experience, Action, Prayer, and Faith.

This is not a book that claims every change is good. It is a book about discernment, letting go, preserving what truly matters, and trusting that God can still bring new life from loss.

For parishioners, pastors, ministry leaders, and anyone facing a season of transition, Dancing with Change offers a hopeful path forward.
