Synopsis
Chopin hat nur wenige Werke in der Hauptform der Klassik, der Sonatenform, hinterlassen – unter ihnen zählt die Klaviersonate op. 58 sicherlich zu seinen bedeutendsten. Sie ist formal konventioneller aufgebaut als die frühere b-moll-Sonate, aber ebenso wie ihr Schwesterwerk erfüllt von romantischer Poesie, unwiderstehlichen melodischen Einfällen und glänzender Virtuosität. Die Revision der bisherigen Henle-Urtextausgabe wird nun auf eine breitere Quellenbasis gestellt: Neben einem weiteren Schülerexemplar, das aufschlussreiche Korrekturen aus Chopins Unterricht enthält, ist eine spätere Auflage der französischen Erstausgabe von besonderer Bedeutung, da hier Korrekturen Chopins umgesetzt sind. Somit liegt die h-moll Sonate jetzt mit verbessertem Notentext und ausführlich kommentierenden Worttexten vor!
