Synopsis

The Cha-cha-cha is a Latin American dance rhythm that came from Cuba in the 1950´s. It developed from various elements of the Mambo but was played noticeably slower. The first Cha-cha-cha was composed in 1950 by the violinist Enrique Jorrin. It evolved into one of the most popular Cuban rhythms and by the end of the 1950s had become a favourite dance in Europe. This edition has been published in the series POP FOR PERCUSSION which focusses on popular percussion rhythms.
