Synopsis
Again and again, there happen to be possibilities to bring early and previously unpublished music by B. A. Zimmermann to light – as is the case with this 'Song of Abelone' on a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke which Zimmermann set to music in 1939. The recording of all songs of the composer is now followed by a printed edition – an interesting insight into the early 'composition workshop' of Zimmermann. Instrumentation: medium voice and piano
