Innocent Onika Atubo, from the Lango region in Northern Uganda, was born on 23rd May 1991 to the former Minister of Lands, Hon. Daniel Omara Atubo, and Margaret Atubo. Innocent died suddenly at home in Kampala on 17th September 2017 at the age of 26. He was a student at Makerere University and had also studied at St. Mary's College Kisubi, Bishop Cipriano Kihangire SS Luzira, and Kyambogo University. He was intelligent, astute, industrious, friendly, humorous, and an innovative storyteller who believed in the power of transformative leadership to effect positive change in society.

The Master's Dogs is a tale that centres on the lives of the dogs of Free-Lands. The story dwells on relationships among the dogs as well as the traits of each. Change of leadership brings with it a change of life, or so it seems. It brings to light a society crippled by deception, greed, fear, corruption, nepotism, segregation, and thirst for power.

The collection explores the tempting and destructive nature of power and leadership, wittingly captured through the lives of dogs and hyenas in The Master's Dogs. With hilarity and depth, the book also highlights the search for identity, the struggle of young people against drugs, alcohol, and self-harm, as well as the power of relationships.
