Synopsis

• This book not only provides a feast for the eyes but also reveals the philosophical depth and profound insights into universal values embedded in Chi Wing Lo’s creations, inspiring us to embrace, contemplate and interpret art with an open mind, bringing us endless possibilities
• The sculptures in the book demonstrate Chi Wing Lo’s profound exploration of the concepts of time and space. His clever use of bronze and maple wood not only reflects his pursuit of aesthetics, but also solves the problem of how to let the audience experience the “infinity of time and space” through the “past” and “generalised context” symbolised by these materials, providing a new perspective an way of thinking for contemporary art

Angels from Infinity: The Sculptures of Chi Wing Lo explores and interprets Chi Wing Lo’s sculpture art. His works remind us that art is, among other things, an invitation to change the rhythms of our lives, to sense another order of temporality—slower, closer to the non-temporal, perhaps without ever reaching it. These material enigmas contain the power to slow down thought, bringing it to a standstill in an idea of origin. Situated between the celerity of vision and the inherent immobility of their position in space, his sculptures ask the eye to wait; and along with this arresting of the visual, they urge the mind to delve deeper.
