Synopsis

This book explores how the escalating environmental crises of our time — climate change, biodiversity loss, and rising ocean temperatures — are rooted in human behaviour and how they can be addressed through a unique convergence of science, technology, and global cooperation. The book argues that if our actions have caused these problems, our intellect and innovations, particularly in artificial intelligence, can also help solve them. Drawing from biological, psychological, social, and even spiritual perspectives, this interdisciplinary volume charts new paths toward sustainable living. It introduces the concept of eco-conscious AI: personal AI assistants designed to guide individuals toward environmentally responsible decisions. Also, highlighting practical frameworks like the circular economy and energy transition strategies. Contributions from a diverse group of international scholars across disciplines such as neuroscience, engineering, computer science, and social science reflect a shared urgency among the younger generation to act. Topics range from AI's role in health and energy behaviour, to global citizenship, environmental ethics, and soil regeneration. With a unique blend of global insight, technological innovation, and ethical inquiry, Ecological Turn with Intelligence offers a forward-looking roadmap for an intelligent response to today's most pressing ecological challenges.
