About the Author

Larry D Qiu received a PhD degree (in 1993) in economics from the University of British Columbia. He was a professor in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Chung Hon-Dak Professor (in Economic Development) in the University of Hong Kong (HKU). He is currently Sydney S.W. Leong Chair Professor of Economics, Head of Department of Economics, Lingnan University, Hong Kong. He was a president of Hong Kong Economic Association and founding president of China Trade Research Group. His teaching and research focus on international trade, foreign direct investment, research and development, and industrial organization.
