Synopsis

A Beginner's Guide to Logic and Critical Thinking is intended for individuals seeking to improve their critical thinking skills, including students, professionals, and indeed anyone curious about logical reasoning. The reader does not require prior knowledge of logic or philosophy to be able to read the book as the authors have tried to present the topics in simple language except where philosophical jargons were unavoidable. This book has many practical and relatable examples, most of which reflect the common experiences of undergraduate students on campus. To help you firm your knowledge and understanding of the topics discussed in the book, each of the eight chapters ends with practice questions. By the end of this book, you will be able to understand the philosophical underpinning of some contemporary issues, recognise and construct logical arguments, identify and challenge biases and fallacies, develop critical and creative thinking skills for personal and professional growth and be able to make a distinction between truth, beliefs and opinions, particularly, in today's world of dictatorship of relativism. Reading this book will enhance your cognitive abilities and enrich your understanding of the world.
