He studied at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM ), where he obtained a degree in medicine in 1950. He specialized scholarship after pathology , with studies conducted by Kellogg Foundation School of Medicine, Washington University in St. Louis from 1950 to 1952. Upon returning to Mexico he pursued graduate studies at the National Institute of Cardiology from 1953 to 1954. In the National School of Biological Sciences Polytechnic Institute national held a doctorate in immunology from 1968 to 1973. He was founder of the Unit of Pathology , Faculty of Medicine, his alma mater , which he directed for fifteen years. Since 1958 he has been professor of pathology, and more than fifty -eight years of teaching exercise was named professor emeritus . He is also head of the Department of Experimental Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at the General Hospital of Mexico . For ten years he belonged to the Board of Governors of the UNAM .
