This revised edition is the first complete translation of the classic Chinese Oracle of Change. The 3,000-year-old text is rich in wisdom and imagery that can still provide answers in today's troubled times. Inspired by C G Jung's insights into the psyche, and researched for over 50 year5s by the Eranos Foundation of Switzerland, this edition presents the I Ching as a psychological tool - a way of connecting with the creative imagination. The 128 page Concordance provides an invaluable tool for understanding the divinatory context of the words and phrases used in the book.

The "I Ching" is a powerful oracle or divinatory system with roots that go back over 3000 years. Its divinatory core, the oldest and most complex system to survive into modern times, consists of a set of 64 six-line figures, referred to as hexagrams. Each figure has a name and a group of short phrases associated with it, and the combinations of text and figures act as mirrors for the unconscious forces shaping any given moment, problem or situation and connecting it with unseen forces behind it. This translation aims to re-present the work as a way of connection with the unconscious, and with the creative imagination that underlies all philosophies and systems.
Stephen Karcher PhD is an internationally known writer, lecturer, translator and consulting diviner with over thirty years' experience working with the I Ching. Rudolf Ritsema is an orientalist and President of the Eranos Foundation, famed for its seminars on Jungian psychology.
