Synopsis

In Warnings from Tozer to the Church, A. W. Tozer, one of the most revered preachers of the 20th century, delivers a passionate wake-up call to modern Christianity. This collection of teachings addresses the pressing issues that hinder spiritual growth and authentic Christian living, urging believers to return to the profound wisdom and transformative power of God.

What’s Inside:

  • Ignoring the Enemy: Tozer warns of the dangers of underestimating the spiritual forces of darkness. He calls Christians to vigilance, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and resisting the enemy’s subtle tactics.
  • Self-Trust and Self-Will: Tozer critiques the reliance on human strength and willpower over divine guidance. He challenges believers to surrender fully to God’s will and depend solely on His strength.
  • Artificial Preaching: Highlighting the prevalence of shallow and performance-driven preaching, Tozer calls for a return to genuine, Spirit-filled sermons that convict hearts and transform lives.
  • A Playground Attitude Toward Christianity: Tozer laments the casual and entertainment-focused approach to faith, urging believers to treat their walk with God with reverence and seriousness.
  • The Lack of Christlikeness: Observing the diminishing reflection of Christ’s character in modern believers, Tozer emphasizes the need for humility, love, and holiness in everyday life.
  • Diminished Joy of the Second Coming: Tozer reminds the Church of the hope and anticipation of Christ’s return, urging believers to live with the joy and urgency of this glorious promise.
