Synopsis
Diabetes can limit blood supply to the feet resulting in loss of feeling, which means foot injuries do not heal well and may go unnoticed. People with diabetes are 15 times more likely to have a limb amputated due to gangrene. Diabetic foot is an often overlooked complication in general diabetes care.
This book is a practical guide to the management of diabetes-related complications of the foot.
Beginning with an overview of diabetic foot care, anatomy and biomechanics of the foot, and peripheral neuropathy, the following sections cover a variety of diabetes-related disorders.
