At the start of each description he notifies the reader of (i) the name (ii) the location (iii) the owner (whether govt. or privately owned (iv) class (good condition, decaying condition, dilapidated condition) (v) the date (vi) inscription to be found (which, if present, is given in the Persian script and along with its translation and finally notes and a general description. The monuments are from the period 1578-1817 and cover the Qutab Shai dynasty. There are 76 monuments that are described accompanied by 58 illustrations of notable people, inscriptions and the monuments. About the Author: -Syed Ali Asgar Bilgrami, Asaf Jahi was an Indian distinguished author, journalist and editor of a national daily. Bilgrami, who served as officiating director of Hyderabad State archaeology department in the early 1920s, wrote in his book, Landmarks of Deccan. It is a comprehensive guide to the archaeological remains of the city and suburbs of Hyderabad, that 'In the Qutub Shahi' period the first storey was used as a madrasa and cubicle for students. He wrote 18 books and published 37 papers in different journals in four languages. He had linked in 188 library holdings which itself certified his popularity.
