About the Author

Dr. Sumit Sarkar is presently Professor of Economics at XLRI, Jamshedpur. He is a Ph.D. from the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, JNU, New Delhi. Before joining XLRI, he was member of the faculty at IIT Kanpur and at IIM Kozhikode. He has also taught at some other IIMs as visiting faculty. His area of research is Applied Game Theory, Industrial Organization Theory, Economics of Network Industries and Auction Theory. His research papers were published in various international journals including The Manchester School, International Journal of Management and Network Economics, Information Technology and People etc. Dr. Sarkar is also a reputed trainer. He conducts Management Development Programs for middle and senior management. In past he conducted training sessions or modules for managers of Forbes Marshall Pvt. Ltd., Tata Chemicals, Mahindra Finance, Mashreq Bank (UAE), NHPC, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. Oil India Ltd., Indian Ordinance Factories etc.
